| Addenda offers magnesium based metal hydrates - magnesium
hydroxycarbonate and magnesium/calcium hydroxycarbonate. Our process allows
us to create some unique properties for magnesium based flame retardants. addiStop - Mg magnesium based flame retardants are heat absorbers. They absorb heat through the release of water and/or CO2 during the burning process. When used in vinyl, they also have the added benefit of acting as acid absorbers and reduce the emission of HCl during a fire situation. In many cases, our magnesium based products can sometimes be used as direct replacements for ATH. One major advantage of magnesium based hydrates over ATH is a higher decomposition temperature which means a higher processing temperature before gassing will occur. addiStop - Mg products are available with stearate coatings. |
